1. Star Wars Characters Coming to Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars fans will soon see some of their favorite characters roaming Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland starting April 29, 2026. Look for appearances from Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo as part of an expanded timeline that includes more eras of the Star Wars saga. Guests will also hear iconic John Williams music and find new artifacts and droid creations throughout the land. 

R2’s take: “Oh wow! Darth Vader and Luke are gonna be there? I hope I can find a lightsaber and meet them like a real Jedi!”

2. Disney Starts Refunding Tickets at Shanghai Disneyland

A new ticket refund policy has begun at Shanghai Disneyland, giving guests more flexibility if their plans change before they arrive. This update is a rare move for Disney — normally tickets at most parks aren’t refundable unless Disney cancels. Though currently specific to Shanghai, it could signal wider changes in how Disney handles ticket cancellations.

Lilly’s take: “That is super helpful for families whose plans change. It makes it less stressful to book knowing you might get money back if something comes up.”

3. EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Has Begun

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts kicked off on January 16, 2026, celebrating creative expression through food, visual arts, performances, and more. The festival runs through February 23, 2026 and includes art marketplaces, Disney on Broadway concerts, and the ever-fun Figment Scavenger Hunt around the park.

R2’s take: “I saw food that looks like paintings! And I want to find Figment in the scavenger hunt. It’s like a treasure hunt with snacks!”

4. Disneyland’s Flo’s V8 Cafe and Food Menu Overhaul

Disneyland is rolling out a major food update in early 2026, including a fresh menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Landwith new items like the “Big Dipper” cheeseburger and “Fast Track” chili fries. More than 100 new and returning food and beverage items will be added across the resort as part of celebrations linked to Disneyland’s 70th anniversary and upcoming Lunar New Year offerings.

Lilly’s take: “I am so ready for the new food at Disneyland! The big cheeseburger sounds delicious and perfect for a day full of rides.”
